    Yet another person endlessly confused by this. Not only cant we choose for ourselves what format we want, you chose a completely incomprehensible format for us - silly purple background and no title and date.

    Glad to see some people have posted some workarounds like Ctrl+Shift+T to add a title, or making a macro (presumably with OneTastic).

    Edit:
    Using OneTastic, I made a macro that changes background to white and adds title
    GetCurrentPage().color = "white"
    $Title = GetCurrentPage().title

    You then add that to the Quick Access Toolbar, which can be accessed with Alt+whichever number corresponds to its position in the QAT.

    Then, using AutoHotkey, I made a script that triggers Alt+006 (for some reason, while in QuickNote, you have to press 00 to get to the Quick Access Toolbar, then 6 for its position, even though it is in the 4th position in full window).

    #n::
    Send #n
    Sleep 1000
    Send {Alt}
    Sleep 150
    Send 00
    Sleep 100
    Send 6
    Send {Enter}
    return

    The various pauses were arbitrary, but necessary to get it to work.

    Simply add this to a blank script (right click on desktop, select New, AutoHotkey Script. Edit it in notepad and save. Have it run on Windows Startup and it will be always ready.

    So now I just press windows key + n and it opens QuickNote and triggers the Quick Access shortcut for the macro. Sometimes it glitches, but it seems to work 90+% of the time.

    The problem is that OneTastic only allows you to run macros 500 times before needing an expensive annual subscription... So I'll have to figure something else out.

    Agreed. This is the future of knowledge management. It seems like microsoft is starting to go this way with Delve - it would be fantastic to be able to link and explore Onenote Notes as you do in TheBrain
