Un-distributing a page from a class notebook
It would be sooo useful to be able to mass delete or un-distribute a page from a class notebook. When I make changes to a page I have already distributed, it means I distribute again, and then students have to delete the original themselves (and many are unable to do this).
94 votesThis has been fully rolled out to the Windows 10 app, web, iPad and Mac versions of the Class Notebook Toolbar.

OCR in OneNote for Windows 10 like in OneNote 2016
I would like to be able to insert a screenshot of text or a picture of text into OneNote for Windows 10 and have it be able to read the text. This would makeeaching materials that I send to OneNote when I take a picture of text using the OneNote app on my phone, or when I screenshot text, or print a file to OneNote accessible via immersive reader. This functionality is already built into OneNote 2016. I would like it in OneNote for Windows 10.
10 votesThis has shipped. It takes 10-15 minutes to kick in, but is has been fully rolled out in Windows 10 for the last year+

Don't get rid of the desktop version of OneNote
I am a teacher and the App version of OneNote doesn't come close to the functionality of the desktop version. The constant loading of the different pages wastes valuable time a teach doesn't have to waste.
PLEASE, PLEASE make a OneNote 2019 desktop version!!!
289 votesGood news – we are keeping OneNote Desktop 2016, and also putting it back into Office 365 ProPlus. We will also be bringing future improvements to the Desktop client.

Change the sort default to last name when reviewing student work
The default sort setting is student first name. Rarely would teachers need the list sorted by first name (however friendlier it might be). Most teachers have a gradebook open, sorted by last name, to cross-reference grades and work.
18 votesThis has been implemented in the Class Notebook “Review Student Work” feature for Win10, iPad, Online and Mac

equation editor
The Win10 app is getting good. The one thing I still miss from ON 2016 is the full equation editor - which is necessary when working with science. Will that come?
14 votesWe are happy to let you know that we have started to roll out Equation Tools feature to OneNote for Windows 10. The feature will be available to everyone in the next couple of weeks. Deleting Pages in Class Notebook
Being able to delete pages you have sent out to the students without having to individually go through each students note book to delete it! Being able to tidy up the note book would be great!

If not bringing back OneNote Desktop, make APP as functional as the desktop version please!
There are many features missing in the app, and my entire school went to OneNote for it's great functionality and now that we're updated we have lost a lot of the power of the program. Please, either go back to desktop version or make the APP as powerful.
Specifically at the moment I'm pulling out my hair that I can't rename an embedded file by simply right clicking on the file like before. I also miss the email page button. The list goes on and on. Help please!11 votesGood news – we are keeping OneNote Desktop 2016, and also putting it back into Office 365 ProPlus. We will also be bringing future improvements to the Desktop client.

Cross Notebook Distribution
OneNote needs to have all of the Cross Notebook Distribution options that OneNote 2016 has. Right now, I teach three different sections of the same course. In OneNote, I have to make a copy of the same page in each notebook and distribute the same page three times. In 2016, I only had to make the page once and could distribute it to all three class sections that I have. OneNote 2016 also allows you to make student groups, which is awesome for differentiation. OneNote does not have this option. To me, this is a GAPING hole in the app.

Background Colour
I am an educator at Cardiff and Vale College and creating resources for dyslexic students in OneNote Desktop. I have changed page colours to make them dyslexia friendly although when opening in the online version this reverts back to standard white.
I am aware this has been reported and the response has been that there is no option in OneNote online to change the background colour neither is there any plans to include this in any future upgrades.
Therefor I would like to stress how inportant it is for this feature to be enabled on Onenote online and any other…

Distributing a page to some students, this is important for differentiation. This goes for sections too. IT will improve the functionality

Sorting students by last name in the app
In One Note 2016, it was possible to sort students by last name when reviewing student work. This was much, much easier to review, as most grade books are also sorted by last name. Could this functionality be added to the app?
2 votesThis has been implemented in the Class Notebook “Review Student Work” feature for Win10, iPad, Online and Mac

"section group"
In one note app, provide the same functions for distributing a new blank section group to all students, and then distributing new blank sections to that group that already exists in one note 2016. I would use some of the enhancements to section groups requested in other threads if they become available, but a first (and hopefully simple and quick step) would be to just port the existing functions over to the new app.

Add ruler to the app
There is a ruler for the desktop version but I like using the app and want a ruler for it

Review Student Work in Section Groups
Please allow us to see pages and tabs in section groups in the OneNote App when we are reviewing student work! Currently we can only see tabs in the main notebook, but no tabs in section groups show up. I create a new section group for each unit, so I cannot review student work since it isn't visible. Once again I am forced to return to ON 2016... Pretty please!

Systems of Equations
On OneNote you need to make it so you are able to graph BOTH lines on the same graph for a system of equations.
2 votesIf you write two functions in separate rows, select both and choose “Graph in 2D” from the menu, you will see both lines on the same graph.

Consistency across all versions of OneNote and ClassNotebook
There are such huge inconsistencies in OneNoteOnline, ClassNoteBook, OneNote Desktop App. It means you are juggling between them all to achieve one thing. Not a happy state of affairs. Sometimes achieving noting as a consequence.
For example:The lack of Forms for quizzes in one and not another.
The lack of Connections in one and not another
The lack of ClassNotebook tab onlineThere is a large list but just one solution, every feature across all versions.
188 votesWe just rolled out a huge number of updates for Class Notebook Toolbar across all platforms. Also many new features across other platforms.

Multiple page distribution from Windows 10 App
Multiple page distribution from OneNote 2016 is now wholly unreliable. Recently distributed multiple pages and 72 hours later students still had not got the pages. Major disruption to teaching! Same content had to be distributed page by page from Windows 10 App. Time consuming! When is multiple page distribution coming to the Windows 10 App. LONG OVERDUE ...
