Deleting Pages in Class Notebook
Being able to delete pages you have sent out to the students without having to individually go through each students note book to delete it! Being able to tidy up the note book would be great!

This has been fully rolled out to the Windows 10 app, web, iPad and Mac versions of the Class Notebook Toolbar.
Tweet announcing full rollout is here: https://twitter.com/mtholfsen/status/1240331072484720640?s=20

Having a log of all distributed pages for review deletion etc would be great. Or even the option to update the master and roll out the changes.

PLEASE make this happen. As we move to away from paper exercise books to digital OneNote classbooks, being able to retract/delete a page that has been distributed from all student notebooks, is a must. And it needs to be able to occur at any time (not just immediately afterward distributing). This would be such a useful tool for teachers in this great program.

REMOVE the new dialog box that is asking us if we are "sure" we want to delete each time! I'm sure! I'M SURE! This is a request by multiple teachers here. It needs to be just as easy for us to delete as it is for us to distribute. The undo distribution feature does not work across multiple sections.

Extension of the idea: I use distributed pages for in-class timed testing (language and culture) but I have to copy the pages with students responses to the teacher only area after the allocated time manually. If you could take them back and place them in an area of your choice (which may not be the original idea), it would be very helpful.

It was mentioned by Microsoft staff here that this feature was not available (and "undo" is, in its place) because of the possibility of deleting existing student work. In such a case, I think there should be a warning dialog box, but leave the discretion up to the teachers. Plus, it would be good to add additional contingency measures, such as batch undoing the deleting process. In any case, there's already the history tab with the ability to view and restore deleted sections.

Ability to "take back" a page that has been distributed to student sections (not just "undo distribute page" of the LAST page distributed, but a way to look at a list of distributed pages, choose one, and then undo it)

Ditto! Working from the web interface, it's really easy to get a connection hiccup and click "Add New Section" twice. As a professional writing teacher, it's not a lot of fun to stress the importance of designing interfaces and documents for your clients, and immediately ask students to delete a few empty sections just because I made a mistake.
I understand it from a legal perspective -- we shouldn't have the power to accidentally delete a bunch of student work. But, if I haven't added any students to a notebook yet, it would be great to be able to remove sections from the web interface.

The appearance of an mildly inoffensive word in the reflection on someone's glasses on a screenshot that I used on a lesson title page has caused me to have to go and delete every single page from the students files.... Luckily I only distributed it to 120 students... so that meant that once I was in each of the class notebooks I only had to perform 280 clicks and the innocuous problem was solved...
280 X 4 = 1120 clicks - excluding the pesky mouse movements/tracking involved...
COME ON MICROSOFT WE'RE WORKING HARD, WE GET TIRED, WE MAKE MISTAKES OR OVERLOOK THINGS.... DON'T PUNISH US BY MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO RECALL AND OR OVERWRITE... THE NOTEBOOKS WE CREATE!!!!
this post created at the end of a 14 hour day :-( -

I think that having the undo distribution was a great function but I really would love to have Microsoft come up with a "delete" function that allows teachers to delete pages already distributed and saved in individual students' sections. I wanted to undo my distribution initially but the app hanged and when I re-launched it, the function to undo was no longer applicable! It's kind of inconvenient to go through each student's section to delete a selection of pages especially when we're talking about an entire cohort's! Do hope to hear from you guys soon! Otherwise, I think OneNote Classroom has been fantastic so far!
