Share Welcome Section with parents
I'm loving the new feature of being able to share Students' Notebooks as well as the Content Library with parents. I would also like to be able to share the Welcome Section with them, and I’ll explain why.
I train teachers on the use of Class Notebook and one of the suggestions I always make is for them to create their own Welcome page. The main reason for this is that I’ve been told by students that one of the things they don’t like about using Class Notebook is that every time they open it, they always land on the same page (the default page with the open book and the 3 icons) and they have to search through the Notebook’s Content Library, Collaboration Space and their Student Section to try and find what needs to be done that day.
By making their own Welcome page (and setting it as the top page of the Welcome section), teachers can create an interactive space for students with everything they need to get started as soon as they open their Class Notebook. Teachers can put reading assignments, links to a lesson they’ve created with Office Mix, videos to watch and even links to a specific page in the Content Library. I suggest creating a new page each week and keeping the pages from previous weeks as a kind of archive so that students who were absent or need to check back on previous work can easily access them by date.
Since we can now share the Content Library with parents, it would be great to also share the Welcome Section of the Class Notebook, so that they, too, can get current information about activities and assignments without having to click through the entire Content Library in search of what’s new.

I totally support this suggestion! My son's teacher just gave me a parent access to his personal space but unhappily this is not as helpful if I can't see the welcome section, where all the news and homeworks for the course are located. The teacher presently sends me this content by personal email... not as efficient for her.
Yes good idea!
