Merge Cells in tables in OneNote
The option to merge cells in a table would be great particularly when creating timetables etc, you can block out several cells.
It is infuriating that all office 365 programs don't have common functionality, such as how they handle tables.
Come on OneNote team. Just ask the Word or Excel teams how to do it - they've had this feature for years!
maybe this will help me sync my notes
We are using OneNote across our whole education setting, however this one option is causing quite a lot of headache, can we please have this rectified and or a solution to the problem
It would be really nice to be able to format tables in OneNote the same way you can in Word. I use the class notebook daily with my students, and it would be really nice to be able to do the following when including tables:
*Change the width & color of cell borders
*Set specific cell heights & widths
*Merge or split cells
Definitely something that is needed. Merging and splitting cells makes tables a lot better. Basically I think the functionality in Word should be made available in OneNote too.

Honestly, I couldn't understand the technical difficulty behind such simple but sought out feature for table formatting in One Note. You can do it word, excel, heck even in outlook I think (haven't tried) but nope in one note, why? This feature has been asked since mid 2013, as one can see questions and feature requests here in forum. Yet, neither it been fulfilled, nor any proper explanation has been provided so far.
Is this because of some sort of patent, legal issues, else, I really cannot believe that there is a technical difficulty in implementing that tiny update.
This is a MUST !
I use Google products mostly, but would love to migrate to One Note for the tabbed features. But I can't do that without full table functionality such as merge/split and also distribute columns/rows evenly.
This seems like it should be such an easy fix?

Really frustrating that this feature still hasn't been added. Definitely a must! Even when copying a table from Word, it separates any merged ones! I'm trying to get my school to use it more but need this feature!!
Yes please. I use tables all the time to organise the layout of material on the page in class notebooks, It would be so much more convenient to be able to merge cells.
I would like to be able to merge cells in tables added in classnote books rather than saving as spreadsheet and editing.

this is an absolute must. Not just in class notebook, but in any onenote.

I use tables a lot in my notebooks, but I too find the functionality is too limited. For example, when I try to copy something from one table to another - it never works correctly (all the cells from one table past into one cell in the new table). I would like to be able to do more with formatting too. I basically would love all the table functions from Word to be in OneNote also. My students use OneNote Class Notebook as their lab notebooks, so being able to make nice tables of results data is really crucial.
Columns and rows cannot be merged or split as per on Word. Would be very useful if the same functionality in Word was transferred over!
