Offer "Copy to SharePoint and Link" when inserting files of any size into a SharePoint based notebook
When inserting a file larger than 10MB, into a notebook based in SharePoint, you will be prompted to copy the file to SharePoint and link to it. I have never tried to insert a large file into a OneNote notebook so I didn't know this great feature existed.
I'd like to see the "copy to SharePoint and Link" option offered when inserting files of any size. This would guide people to save files into a more efficient file system, while still benefitting from the linking and sharing power of OneNote.
Agreed, why wouldn't this exist as an option for all file sizes?? Embedded files in OneNote are very limited compared to files on SharePoint and the only workaround is to upload the file to SharePoint first then create a link to it manually which is quite tedious. Having this functionality would make it a breeze and make OneNote a lot more powerful for document management.
I would love to have this option available.
This would be such a useful option!

Completely Agree, that would make things so much tidier for us. Similarly I wish I could insert file in a row next to another file rather than wasting so much space putting them in a column one on top of the other.
Sorry hit inappropriate flag accidentally... Too busy getting angry at OneNote because I am spending most of the time I am trying to figure out the quirks and inconsistencies of OneNote e.g. using tables and cells for example...!!!!!!
Apologies once again.

I completely agree. And it should be for any size file. It would be nice to automatically create a directory structure based on section group, section, and page... but I don't know how it could be maintained once someone renames a section...
Yes and make it an option to set that size.
I'd also rather see it maintain the file name instead of a random string.
