Group objects and anchor ink to text and images
Select objects (Handwritings, pictures or text) and group them using right mouse click menu to move objects easily! This also prevents unexpected shifting and enables working with multiple layers.
Found this major pain first using OneNote 2018, after thousand of pages created with 10 books, Microsoft still not implemented something to fix this. I stop using the drawing as much as possible, since all will be shifted later if I added just 1 line in the page.
This shows how disconnected the big organization developers are with the actual use of their product, did they even use OneNote to keep track of their notes? probably not!
Im using OneNote to study, I put some images in the OneNote pages, insert some shapes.. Then I forgot to add something up, and boom.. lets drag all the shapes to place again.. Please fix this.
Honestly what the heck. I just started using it and I'm already annoyed. I think I'm going to go back to apple. SOMEHOW my old ass iPad can do this but microsoft can't. FFS.
Also looking at this thread - this is from 2014??? How has this not been implemented yet?
How is this NOT possible?

ridiculous you cant do this. just switched from evernote thinking i moved to a better system...
Please, please, please add this feature! I am just starting with OneNote, because I love the possibility of combining the stylus tool with typed text for study purposes. I have lost a lot of time in the last couple of weeks because this feature is lacking. I like being able to color code my underlining and circling of key notes for my study. And as I study, I find I need to insert more text (information I missed or other supporting material) and then I have a confusing mess. I have to go back and reposition my various markings; my circles, under-linings etc... which is very tedious. I was hoping the "insert text" feature would move everything below it as a group. But alas that didn't work. So I went searching to find out how to link my stylus markings to the text being marked, and I found this page, and see many other people are having the same issue. I hope this is not a hard fix because the value of adding this feature for your users is immense! Thank you for considering this feature in your list of things you can do to improve this great product! I hope it makes it to the top of your priority list!!!
Glad to see that grouping is available, but no anchoring is ridiculous. So many stupid clicks and hours wasted. For over 5 years. Such an obvious feature that is already available in the rest of Office.
Sure this is not Microsoft Word, but for crying out loud, I have bought and paid for Microsoft Word, so why can't I have this one little feature that will greatly improve my work and happiness with Microsoft?
Middle management won't allow it? Because the engineering sure isn't hard.
In 10 years, I have not found a reason to use OneNote. Organizing text and media requires linking and grouping. Period.
one more vote to fix this obvious deficiency in Onenote. Exceedingly annoying to not be able to group / anchor
Its not excusable to have not implemented this already!
This is a laughable 'Work Around'
Please take this on board.
Please make at least some basic grouping options. I pay the subscription for Office just for OneNote, so as soon as I see a better alternative I'm out. My payments alone could easily pay the coder to quickly add that in XD
Ink is useless to me in OneNote as long as it’s not anchored. I want to be able to annotate other things with ink. Then, OneNote on a tablet would be a killer app.
Why the **** does something like this still not exist? It makes working with a stylus such a pain!
Holy moly please can you freaking do this! It is so frustrating to have my text move down without the drawings. It is such a simple addition. Sort yourselves out microsoft
OneNote sucks just because of this
Almost any other similar program has this functionality. Microsoft, ya'll just late to the party or not coming at all?

How is Microsoft this unimaginably short sighted to not have a feature that anchors drawings on a One Note page to text positions on that page?!?! Any text filled in above at a later time, shifts the drawing or marks by the stylus away if they come later. It is as if you have to choose one or the other; typed text, or stylus writing. Going back to an earlier note on a page and inserting new information such as a drawing (eg arrow, circle) is the cornerstone of note taking!!!! Does this need to be spelled out to Microsoft? Why have the stylus feature at all then? At least in Powerpoint you can add text or markings and then "group" them together and they will stay together. I feel like I'm trying to explain to brilliant programmers and developers how to put utensils into a drawer. Keeping information together in notes is FUNDAMENTAL to note taking, is it not Microsoft? It's been over 2 years since I've been using Onenote and this problem makes me insane. Imagine taking notes on paper and then, going back to earlier notes in order to write in new information. Then when you do that, your circles and arrows or taped in sticky notes that you put in in your notes today shifted down away from the positions that are critical? WTF?!?! I cannot believe Microsoft developers are stupid enough to have missed the most fundamental mechanism of note taking. I'd appreciate a teleological reason for purposely not allowing the user to anchor stylus marks to a position in the page that are grouped to the position of typed text or inserted images. One Note certainly was not designed with Scientists in mind. Maybe artists only? I should be allowed to "group" these things together. I'm dying to know why Microsoft decided to leave this feature out!!!!
OMG Please. A group function or a anchor function. In All onenote version PLZ

I use OneNote all the time but not having this one feature is a HUGE disadvantage. I am considering switching to another application to get this flexibility. It is such a simple feature that is implemented in many other Office program. OneNote needs this grouping feature!!!!!
