Give us the previous navigation layout back in OneNote for Windows 10
I HATE the layout of the new navigation manu in the latest update of OneNote app for Windows 10, in this model, you can't customize the menu position, etc while you could in the previous versions. I don't understand why you think you need to change what's good while you do not touch what's bad! Please give us the previous navigation layout. It had no problem.

I'm new-ish to OneNote and have been confused with the 2 (or 3?) versions of OneNote. The 2016 version is far better than the for Windows version. Can we please have just one version and ideally teh 2016 version? Like the comments here I prefer the pages and sections at the top where they take up a lot less space.
Please allow us to put the menu at the top! I am a teacher and use it daily. Onenote 10 hides half of my screen. I like to see my pages at the top so I can scroll between them easier.
As a left handed person, I would prefer if there was an option to move the navigation bar to the right hand side so my palm doesn't intefere as I write on my tablet.
I totally agreed. I dislike the menu on the left VERY MUCH!!! I want it back on top. I refuse to use OneNote again until they change it back!

I have spent so much wasted time trying to get back what seems to be missing in this version.

At least, let the users choose which navigation layout they prefer in the settings.
I also HATE the new layout for all of the reasons everyone has already stated. I am struggling with using this. I LOVE the prior version. It was great a great tool, and now I am struggling to use the new version that was forced upon me. :( :(
totally agree..its the worst **** ever… loved it for years… was always happy to use the Win Version at Work because the MAC version is poor as well…. now both sucks.

I agree, the wide columns waste reading space and when hidden serve no actual use at all.
Give us scrolling top tabs and a choice of (sub)pages listed to the left or the right.
Bring back the old interface!! :( :( :(
As an IT trainer, I used to recommend OneNote as the essential research tool on a laptop. Now I can't do that because it's so clunky with the new interface :(
Totally agree! As a left handed person, the new app format is very difficult to use.
I have to say that I very much dislike the v17 layout. In v16 I could put outlook and one note side by side and manage my day and information.
Now with the tab hierarchy eating up so much screen space, you have reduced my effectiveness and made it far more tedious to manage information on calls.
I'm not saying you need to kill the hierarchical view, I'm just saying that a lot of people seem to simply want an option to put things back the way they were.

EXTREMELY NEEDS AN OLD DESIGN
THAT NOW IS A COMPLETE **** - IMPOSSIBLE TO USE
the navigation layout for onenote for windows 10 is horrible! OneNote 2016 was perfect. Please go back to that layout.

Please can we have the tabs at the top + the menu on the right like before?? It makes onenote feel more like a notebook instead of mimicking other simpler note taking apps like evernote. Listen Microsoft, you guys are TRENDSETTERS. Please do not conform and water down onenote just to make it more responsive or whatever. You can make an app version for simplicity’s sake but pleaseee give us the real one note back. We need the tabs on top, and we need the menu on the RIGHT because that’s what gives us the best user experience. Please give us the one note we love

I need to be able to drag and drop a page from one section into another section in a different notebook. I know you can do this in this version, but it is not as simple as drag and drop. The simple solution is to give another Nav view option that shows other notebooks and there sections (just like in OneNote 2016)
@andy tait, that is exactly what I was thinking. Right now we are left in the dark about the future of OneNote, which for me is a sign that they don't care or that they know they will continue the same way as they are doing right now and don't want to tell that because people will abandon it.

I think judging by the comments - it would be great if someone from the UI design team could explain what they are doing and what they plan to do about it? Clearly the amount of feedback from people going out their way to tell them should cause them alarm...
Also agree with this. The current layout is a terrible use of screen space!
