Rotate inserted PDFs
It would be really helpful if you could rotate inserted PDFs in OneNote. Currently, the "Rotate" button is grayed out.

It all depends how the PDF was imported into OneNote. At this time, if you import a PDF into OneNote using the OneNote 2016 for Windows version that comes with MS Office, there is no way to rotate it. If you import a PDF using the Mac version, or the Windows 10 app, or the web version, you should be able to rotate it.
It is so frustrating that the rotation or landscape/portrait orientation is not yet an option!!!!
I can't believe it's still not a thing...
If you're on a desktop, print from Adobe to Onenote- settings:
Page size- Fit
Select- Choose paper source by PDF page size
then go to
Send to Onenote- Properties-Orientation- Landscape (Yes, there are two places to change the orientation to landscape, and BOTH must be selected.)
That worked for me with a multipage PDF (settings in Onenote set to File-Options-Advanced-then go all the way down to Printouts- Insert Long printouts on multiple pages.)
Hope this helps someone!
A work-around for a [short] PDF is to:
1. save the PDF as image (*.jpg, *.png etc.) - which gives an image for each page
2. Insert the set of images (one for each page) into a OneNote page. Can insert them all at once !! :-)
3. R click to rotate the images as needed
Still needed? What is the plan OneNote Team?? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a huge need/requirement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really need this for work. I can't do anything, by using "print to onenote" it just turns around the paper layout but not the pdf on it (it just cuts it in half). I'd love to work with onenote but if I can't even do this there's no use for it in college.
Thank you so much to the commenter from 19Feb2019. This fixed an issue i was struggling with (regarding how to rotate inserted PDFs in OneNote). You rock!!
The current way to do this is to change the "Sent to OneNote 2016" printer setup paper orientation (Portrait vs Landscape). This needs to be done before printing to OneNote.
I agree that a simple Rotate button would be much easier to use.

Yes, we need this. You can with a picture.
please add, I often print articles that I need to study to Onenote and add comments etc to these and for this Onenote is fantastic. Sometimes these pdf files have pages that are printed landscape amongst portrait pages.
Please add possibility to rotate pictures and pdf files.
This feature should be a no-brainer. Please add this to OneNote for Win 10....thanks!

If a PDF is printed into one note, all the individual pages are "pictures" in my UWP OneNote and I'm able to rotate them. I have an Office 356 abo I think but still, you guys thinking about voting that up now should check if it is even a problem anymore.
YES! WE NEED THIS!
I don't understand how this basic function is still missing in OneNote...
FYI, Onetastic doesn't work in OneNote for Windows 10. We really need the ability to rotate inserted PDFs.
This makes "insert printout" useless for anything that was printed in landscape. We're running into this more and more with data, calendar, photo, and other printouts. It's one thing not to have it in the mobile app, but I'm not seeing a way to do it even in the full desktop application.
