We are pleased to inform you that the virtual Ruler has been added to OneNote for Windows 10 as part of our December 2017 update.
You can find it in the ribbon under the Draw tab.

Thank you for the ruler. BUT I'm still missing the protractor. Now that the notebook in ink was terminated there's no useful tool for construction in Geometry class.
Please just implement the existing ruler from PowerPoint into OneNote 2016.
Agree. It doesn't make sense to have the ruler on the free version and not on the 365 version of office. Please add the feature.
Yes, why is it included in the free version but not in the full-version - makes absolutely no sense to me!
It would be nice if you added this feature to the full version of OneNote that is a part of office 365. You know, the one that some of us payed for. The free version doesn't have all of the features I use, so that one's a no go for me. It's cool that you're willing to give it away for free but, I'm a little irritated that this feature was not added to the full version as well.

Add a digital Ruler Function! Drawing lines and forms is already well possible, but a digital Ruler would just feel much more natural. Also it would be great if the ruler could be turned easily, e.g. Pressing the Eraser Button n the Wacom Pen would lead to the Ruler turning around its middle with the pen.
This would greatly increase workflow!
