Windows: Mindmap functionality
I like to organise my ideas in a Mindmap then add some meat to the bones in OneNote. Adding mindmap functionality would make it a one stop shop for me. Todo lists, project plans etc can all be drafted up in one place.
Thanks all for all the comments and votes around this topic. In the near future, we are not considering this type of capability for OneNote.
OneNote needs mind map capability

Yes add Mind map capability. This and more marketing could make OneNote THE killer app.

Agree with you 100% Declan. Mind maps for rapid idea development and skeleton of the note sections and then add the meat with existing functionality.

Anyone tried this mindmapping add-in from OneNote Gem? Wondering about security etc as well as functionality. http://www.onenotegem.com/onenote-mind-map.html

Look at this idea. Connected shapes could be used to create a mind map!
Great idea. The OneNote Favourites mind map functionality is very limited. Something similar to SimpleMind incorporated into Onenote would be awesome.
Something like Coggle would be good.
just starting with onenote after researching it vs evernote. My preferred mindmapping program is also the Lifehacker user favorite, XMind. It can now export to evernote. I encourage you to work with XMind to have it exportable to OneNote.
It would be a HUGE plus if xmind was integrated into OneNote
Mind mapping features directly integrated in Onenote FOR MAC, as a summary in order to navigate (and refer) between the different pages of Onenote FOR MAC will be a fondamental fonction.
pouvoir exporter une note au format .png
exemple : pouvoir exporter une grande mind-map ou userflow improvisé sur OneNote et l'export en png serait parfait plutôt que de le tronquer en plusieurs pages pdf.
One Note is about creativity and brainstorming. So mind mapping is a core piece of brainstorming. That would be really great feature! Mind mapping first and business diagraming next. Creating free diagram with text is a pain in OneNote now. We love OneNote! And mind mapping will be a huge pain relief for us.
Would love to have a fully editable mind map within onenote. Would be killer!
I would love to see this expanded to concept mapping, which is slightly different from mind mapping: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concept_map
OneNote is already a really great platform. Adding mind mapping functionality to it would be a perfect addition.
I don't know that I'd want mindmap functionality IN OneNote, though I would like the automatic linking Mindjet's MindManager used to have with ON, back in ON 2007. I've missed it ever since.

Would like even if we only had the principle of being able to scroll and grow the pages in every direction.

it should be possible to link to different sections/attachements from single mind map page .
If mindmap is considered, then I would like to add these features as well for onenote:
I have a surface pro first generation. I used it regularly to take ink notes. I prefer the cleaner design of onenote for the modern UI than the desktop environment. Main reason is because I want to access onenote quickly and start inking quickly with distractions of pressing a lot of buttons and not losing a lot of screen real estate.
Some more features I would like to see in the modern Ui onenote app for windows 8.x are:
1. ink-to-text recogntion inline (see my video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ro8RLACs7M&list=UU1XKbytqHObDBndR48cyLhQ)
2. more backgroun page line options and background color options. Also option to add picture background as page line backgrounds.
3. auto shape recogntion
4. In line ink-to-math recogntion
5. option to have more editing option for pictures and images, such as cropping, resizing, rotating in 5 degree angels and auto-enhance.
6. office lens integrated within onenote.
7. option for quick converting of notes to pdf.
