Setting to add new notes to top of section
When I add a new note in the OneNote apps or OneNote Online, the new note is created at the bottom of the section. Id like to see the default configurable. Placing new, recent notes at the top of the section makes more sense because they are in the forefront of your thoughts, ideas, plans.
Then when I access or create notes across all devices, my most recent notes and thoughts are immediately accessible when I open the section.
Really frustrated! Been able to do this a year or 2 ago, but not anymore. MS seems to have changed it.
All proposed options around "Three dots top right" or "Settings - Navigation" dont exist for me. I am on WIndows 10.
This should be simple. Cmon peeps!
This would make life so much easier. I've always put the most recent notes on the top so I can review notes or action items in the order of relevancy but it gets disorganized when I drop emails into one note & it's counter productive.

100% Needed! Plus, filter by date!
I just figured out a way to push old notes down in a page and add new notes at top of page.
At the File, Home, Insert, Draw etc toolbar
Select Insert Space
Drag the cursor down to create space for new notes
Old notes get pushed down the page
New notes can be inserted at top of page
Not seeing these "three dots" in OneNote Online. Only Navigation is navigating panes ... what a I missing? :-(
Thanks. This is in the settings already. This topic should be closed!

Where are you finding "From the 3 dots in the upper-right-hand corner, click on settings>options."? I do not see this. What version are you on? I need this feature!

From the 3 dots in the upper-right-hand corner, click on settings>options.
Scroll to Navigation. Create new pages. Drop-down menu lets you select "At the top of the page list". (Or at the bottom; or below selected page.)
We've been asking for this since 2014 and it still hasn't been updated? Ugh. Come on Microsoft. This can't be that hard to fix!
Earlier comment refers to function of 'Onetastic' add-in.
History - Recent Edits - All Pages Sorted by Date.... Then under Search Results - Sort by Date Modified. Toggle ascending/descending button.

Right clicking to add page is a good suggestion made in an earlier comment and is a good work around but remember this (and a million other shortcuts) isn't as easy. I agree that there needs to be a configurable default. As a VB programmer myself I should think it should be all too easy for MS to add a configurable default for the "+ Add Page" option under the "File-Options-General (or other) section. MS, please listen to the people that use your product!
Yes, please make the most recent the top/open note.
New note must be automatically merged on top of the list of notes within certain or each sections, not on bottom!!!!! It's really annoying and Microsoft ignores this very natural requirement for many years. It's like new incoming emails are on the bottom of Inbox, not on the top. Probably there is no way to change it, probably need another similar product, although paying for Office 365 for Business every year..

Please please fix this - i too like all the others need my emails when added to one note to go to the top of a page. the suggestion below to use always on top pin did not work for me.
GO TO the VIEW TAB! There is a pin that says "ALWAYS ON TOP"
Chiming in as well. Please add this capability to OneNote 2016! (or more accurately across the OneNote ecosystem)
