A native word count tool should be available instead of having to copy and paste the text into Word.

yes can we request to have word-count in onenote please. it would be really helpful. thanks.

OneNote having word count and character count would make it very powerful. Then I would only need MSWord for formal documents.

I also copy out from OneNote to MSWord just to do word/character counts.
In reality, I only need MSWord for formal documents and OneNote would be very powerful with the word count feature added in.
