  1. Disable Auto-capitalization

On the Web App version, there doesn't seem to be a way to disable auto-caps. When I'm taking notes with code in it, it'll auto cap things like "var =" or "somekey: " in a JSON snippet. I like to make snippets I can copy-paste later, but if I'm entering the code on the Web App version, it mucks it up and I have to go back and uncap about every line. If I have it disabled on the Windows desktop version, why wasn't that designed to carry over as the default? If there's no dialog to change it, at…

We’ve recently added the ability to choose whether or not you want to auto-capitalize words. To disable auto-capitalization, go to Home>Spelling and select AutoCorrect Options. In the AutoCorrect Options pop-up, de-select the “Capitalize first letter of sentences” box. Re-select the box to re-enable auto-capitalization.

  2. Add the ability to use ink in OneNote Online

Add the ability to insert ink using the web app.

  3. Tags need to sync across all platforms

I'm a bit bit surprised that this has to be requested but OneNote has not arrived yet as a true mobile platform. As far as I'm concerned, it pretends to be but it's not. Please add the ability for tags to sync across all platforms. If I create tags on the desktop, they should be available to use on the online version or mobile.

  4. Enable insert online video (and other embed material) into Onenote Online

16.5.2016 microsoft enabled embedded online materials to be played within Onenote Online.

    See more: https://onedrive.live.com/?Content%20Examples%20&authkey=!AOdDrcSZSizJ17o

However, mere playback is not useful in educational use of Onenote Online. It would be more useful have also a possibility to insert online content (embeddable content) into Onenote Online.

Now one needs to grab tablet or run desktop onenote in order to insert content into his/her Onenote pages.

  5. Crop Images

After uploading an image, I'd love to be able to crop it quickly in OneNote. Sometimes I have a screenshot that I upload and want to remove the browser bar, or other remainders of the screen. Now I need to process the image first and use other tools before I can upload it.

    Hi,

No longer do you need to edit your images before adding them to OneNote!

To crop, right click the image and click Image Crop. Drag the handles to set the final image, then click Crop.

Let us know if you find problems.

    Best Regards,

  6. Drawing in OneNote Online

My company has recently started using OneNote Online for idea sketching & brain storming. We are using Linux in our development environment and therefore are restricted to OneNote Online. Being able to draw and sketch in the Online App would be most beneficial to our productivity as well as the productivity of other companies in a similar situation.

  8. Allow the Drawing Tools for the Online version

My students and I use OneNote, but since we don't have one to one laptops the district won't let them sign onto the desktop version of OneNote. Therefore, my students can access the drawing function on it. Sometimes, I like to take screen shots of a text and be able to write on it, highlight, or add notes to it with the drawing tool functions. Could this be made possible?

  9. Add support to add documents (*xls, pdf ..) (like in desktop version)

It would be great to drag and drop documents like Excel Sheets into my OneNote Online. This is because I really like to organize my Meeting Protocols with OneNote but the protocols need to be native *xls and OneNote is not installed on all Meeting Laptops so I have to use the online Version.

  11. Need develop handwirting and freehand drawing functions into OneNote.

As an engineer, I found that some critical functions are missing in One Note. For example, I want to write down some equations with special characteristics in my web app notebook and draw some simple flowcharts. It would be desirable and pretty handy to develop these functions which allow handwriting and drawing in the OneNote content. Thanks,

We are pleased to let you know that this feature Audio Recording is now available in OneNote Online. Thank you for all your comments and feedback in helping us make OneNote better for everyone to use.

    Try it like this:
    1. Select an area on your page.
    2. In OneNote Online select “Insert”
    3. Select “Record Audio”
    3. Approve any request to use your computer microphone
    4. It is now recording. Press stop when you like to end it. Maximum length is currently 90 seconds.

You can play back the audio by selecting the small “play” part on the icon or press “play” from the menu.

Created audio is now WAV format. Playback depends on your browser.

You can find more information here.

    Hello-
We have added line and paragraph spacing to OneNote Online. You can add/modify before and after spacing to a paragraph and you can add/modify line spacing within a paragraph. There are two options to access this capability.

    (1) Select the content > right click> choose “Paragraph Spacing Options” from the menu;
    (2) Under the Home tab, click the drop-down on the “Paragraph Alignment” button > choose “Paragraph Spacing” from the menu. This option has a few quick pre-set line spacing options available.

  16. Add ability to open multiple windows (pages) within one note

It would be nice if I could use the default "Open in new tab" function in my browser. That way I can have the Library in one tab and have the instructions in an other one.

  18. Background colors

Please add different background colors and special styles for notes. It really bores me when I see only white page but if it is yellow with cells or line I become more effective.

  19. mathematica formula

Word Online can display math formula created using the builtin equation editor, but OneNote online cannot. After this many years MS bought OneNote, it is surprising that OneNote is still not fully integrated into the Office family.
