Allow for a custom URL scheme to open up the app the same way it opens up normally
Currently if you launch the OneNote app from another app using its custom URL scheme of onenote://, the app opens and then gives you an error message "Cannot Open Link".
So it appears the app is expecting more parameters in the URL that aren't there and so you get this error message everytime.
However, if a user just wants to launch the OneNote app from another app or widget like Launcher or Launch Center Pro, they can't without getting this error message everytime.
So this custom URL scheme (or perhaps another one supported in the app) should allow you to open the app to the same screen as when you launch the app from the home screen without giving any error messages.

It will open OneNote with no error.
I'll add something to my previous comment:
What Yama says works... But it could be simpler...
I found the link he says using the desktop app (I'll make some examples):
just copy it in Launch center pro to open the notebook
It didn't work, so I changed the url into this:
as before: copy it in Launch center pro to open the notebook
- I didn't try with pages.
The correct way should be OneNote://notebook="notebookName"§ion="sectionName"
I agree. It would be very useful.
@Yama if, by any change you are reading this, I can't do what you are saying. Could you write a sample URL, please? You are the only one saying that OneNote already supports this.
Please fix the issue. It will make OneNote an even better app.
I would also like to see this fixed.
That's already possible. Just open a page or section which should be open with the URL and get/create the URL with
I agree. The OneNote app would be that much more powerful if they fixed this bug.

I would love the possibility to copy page link and paste it in another app on my PC and have it opened (when clicked from within that other app) in OneNote, not redirected to OneNote on the web; and sometimes those links don't even work.I wish they were more workable, maybe had a "shorten" function.
Please fix this Microsoft!
