Instant search results
Would like to see search results updated as soon as I start typing searches, much like the older desktop OneNote version. I find typing the search then pressing Enter to be an outdated UI model.

notebooks library
With lots of notebooks I now need a better way to file/organize/navigate/access them. Let users create personal "libraries" where they can file their notebooks, with user-defined categorization and n-levels of sub-categories.

Performance on the Retina Display is bad
I love OneNote but the performance on my MacBook Pro 13 (2016) is not good. Resizing or moving images, zooming in and out or scrolling are extremely laggy. But when I use OneNote on an external 1080p monitor it’s smooth, the performance is only bad on the Retina Display.
Maybe you should consider using Metal on macOS.

Paste is no longer working!
I can no longer use OneNote on my Mac. Every time I try to paste my student's homework into a new page it says "wait" and then I get the color wheel. Eventually I have to do a force quit just to get out of the program. Whatever ya'll did really messed things up for me. Good bye.

OneNote for Mac to Save Locally
Dear Team,
You expressed this:
"Thanks for expressing your support for local notebooks on Mac. We have no plans to support local notebooks in our other clients, since storing your notebooks in the cloud enables experiences that are not otherwise possible."
Please explain yourselves. What can I do on a cloud that I cannot do on a local drive and access to the internet? What if I am in rural areas and don't have access to the internet and use OneNote? Stop using OneNote and look for another program to use?
Doesn't that defeat the purpose of supporting your company?…

search within a tag
Search within a tag. In other words, I want the ability to do a compound search. For example, find the word "push" within the tag "definition." Thanks.

The text needs to be aligned on ruled paper
When using ruled paper, the text should align with it so it appears that you are actually writing on the line.

if there was an easy way to convert "expand"/ "collapse" context into flashcards
I use the "expand" feature to test myself on content from lectures by typing out the question and then "expanding" the answer. I love this feature! However, it would be great to either be able to create real flashcards, or be able to set the status of each question and be able to filter the ones that need to be reviewed easily. Perhaps a space/time repetition reminders if you wanna get real fancy. Essentially "anki" -like features built in.

autocorrect
OneNote for Mac critically NEEDS an autocorrect feature that fixes simple mistakes instead of just underlining them. It is so irritating to me when I take notes in class and have to go back and correct stupid errors that would have been autocorrected if I were using any other software. For example "maintian" instead of "maintain"
Additionally, along with the arrow, OneNote needs to be able to autocorrect -- to —.

Highlights (annotations) of PDF printouts should be in the same layer as the PDF printout.
Currently, highlights (annotations) of PDF printouts move independently of the PDF printout. If the PDF printout is moved (dragged), the highlights do not move. Then the highlights are in the wrong locations with respect to the PDF printout.

line spacing
Feature that allows locking of hierarchical relationship between Pages and Subpages. Consequently, if Pages are moved, the related Subpages are moved automatically with the Page.

Hi Guys, I'm look to take advantage of the ability to open two windows side by side, but...
it just gives you the exact files side by side and as you change them their is not visual indicator like font color change to easily see your revision similar to what can be done in the Beyond Compare software. So I would love to see something like that in One Note. Currently the option to compare One Note docs in Beyond Compare is annoying..."Open both .one files with OneNote (version >= 2010)
Export both sections to the single web page, .mht format
Use your favorite text comparison tool to compare the exported .mht files
If you need to compare…1 vote -
Add page name to title bar
I often have several OneNote for Mac pages open and tiled. It would be very useful to have the page name added to the Notebook and Section names in the title bar, such as Notebook Name >> Section Name >> Page Name. This would be similar to the file name displayed in a Word or Excel title bar. The benefit would be to select the page at a glance rather than needing to open the page window to identify the page by reading the content.

Make the Mac version as powerful as the Windows version!
Why don't you get that you're a software company.

Mac needs to be able set paper size
Mac needs to be able to set paper size (as with One note on Windows). It's impossible for me to scale my notes to an A4 page and as a student this severely decreases my likelihood of using one note for my class notes as they can't be printed accurately
