Allow users to turn off note containers
I hate the containers (the little grey 'text box') which constantly surrounds whatever I'm entering on OneNote Mac. They're distracting and ugly all the time, and I only want to see them when I'm actually dragging text around (if I ever do). Windows users have the option to turn this off in Options-Display-Show note containers on pages, which they can un-check. Please could we add this to Mac version, or simply allow text entry without a container unless we actually need to have 'text boxes'?
At least it should be able to turn off
Please remove this annoying thing
I can not believe there is not an option to remove these. They have to be the most annoying thing i have ever encountered.
Please make ut optional with note container. The make it harder, not easier to make notes.
The single worst fault with Onenote.
Here's another call to have OneNote behave more like Word: REMOVE THE NOTE CONTAINERS!
Please, for the love of God, get rid of the **** things, or at least make them optional... and "No!", I don't mean the toggle to hide them; switch them off completely.
Please get rid of them !!
Please fix it! It's been years!!!
This is the main reason I don't use OneNote often.
I've been trying to figure out how to do this for the last hour and just found out you can't on a Mac, so adding my voice here--please add the option to change it like on Windows!
The reason why I don't like note containers: once you change the size of your window, the text doesn't wrap so you either see a full page and a blank half or just a cramped half.
I type notes as a split-screen but I want to view my notes on an entire page when it's a full screen.
Please, please port the feature to turn text containers off on Mac!
I'm also switching to Evernote because of this. It unnecessarily clutters the interface, doing more harm than good. Actually, I can't really say what good does it do.

They are ugly and do not serve a purpose. What's the point of them?

That's the main reason that I still use Evernote (as a paying user) and also Apple Notes instead of OneNote… I hate these text boxes instead of free writing (link in Word, Apple Notes, Evernote, any other note taking app).
PS: a macOS user ****** now that I found that Windows users have the option of disabling this 'feature' and I don't.
Please FIX IT NOW!!!
the text container can be removed in the window but macOS, plz fix this paradox feature in next version.
These text boxes are terrible. Please Microsoft fix this for Mac users
yes please! allow users to turn of note containers for OneNote Windows 10
+1 Was trying to switch to OneNote for taking meeting notes.
Tried to find the option to "Disable Note Container"
After wasting 45 minutes, came across this thread.
Gave up, switched to Apple notes instead
I stopped using One note some time back because of this. it's just too messy and unordered.
Adding my +1 to this useless unmonitored thread that probably goes to a discontinued email address for the lone Mac apps for Microsoft products product owner from 2012 that has long since been laid off because Microsoft doesn't care about their Mac users...
I certainly share the irritation of these being the default behaviour, but for me, it's not about turning them off all together at the preferences level - I feel I might find them useful at some point, and no doubt others already do.
I think they should be just a feature you can choose to add to the page at any time, similar to adding a text box in Word, or converting a line of text to a paragraph box in Photoshop.
