Mac: Custom tags
As a law student, the tags that are included in this version are completely useless without being able to search for them. Please allow us the ability to use custom tags or at the very least be able to compile like-tags in one place
You can now create custom tags to insert anywhere in your notebooks. For more information on custom tags and searching custom tags, read this blog – Custom tags available soon in OneNote
Also, tags in your notebook and pages now appear in your search results.
I have moved to OneNote just because of this tag option. It would definitely help though, if they could update this feature to allow editing tags, grouping them etc. so that they become an actually helpful resource for work.
When reading, researching and taking notes, having tags to categorize concepts, information and quotations really saves me A LOT time. However, I often review my categories as I gain a better understanding of the subject, and not being able to edit makes it very hard to navigate. Also, I would appreciate having more icon-options (just adding more colors would do). I like the "definition" tag that highlights the text. It would be nice to be able to apply highlighting or other font features to tags, instead of or in addition to the icons.
Similarly, often I want to create tags that only apply to one notebook / section, but are confusing in other contexts. I just started using OneNote and my tag list doesn't stop growing. I am concerned about accumulating too many tags, and not being able to organize them / group them, and thus, use them.
crazy that you can't edit tags. Smells like someone cut a feature in the interests of time.
CRUD operations are basic.
Now, how do we eliminate the pre-established tags (Definition, Important, etc.) if they are not useful. I find they get in the way.
Does adding a comment help? Yes, I would like to create custom tags or at least edit the built-in ones, ideally both.
I want to be able to edit tags

Old man at Microsoft please retire
Why is this not a thing yet? How many years until they finally make this feature? I have wanted this for like four years and it is still not a thing? You announced that it would be available jan 2019 what happened to that?
I agree. These tags are not useful the current way they are implemented. Searchable tags would be much more beneficial.

That's feature number 1 for most users
The tags in OneNote aren't useful to me, I would like to create custom tags, adding this feature to the Mac (finally) would be helpful.
Yes... I would like to-do priorities 1-5, and a clock or calendar icon for due date... I could create these myself if you added the custom tags feature.

Adding my support for this feature request. Please add the ability to create custom tags, search for tags, organize by tags, quickly find tags, and add multiple tags to a single page. I don't use One Note for personal business because of this missing feature.

I just want to use command+1 = Project A and command+2 = Project B, not stupid To Do and Star. Isn't that simple?

This would really help - especially with accessibility/vision. Many of the tags are yellowish and hard to discern in an environment with heavy lighting, glare, or glare screens. Not just for Mac but windows also or 365.
Guys! You started gathering feedback almost a year ago (about a function that already exists on windows), but we still don't have the possibility to use custom tags.
At least can we get some feedback about a possible release date for this basic functionality?

What happened to tags being releases in Jan? Another month has passed, and another 'bug fix' release.
Essential feature, otherwise oneNote becomes quite useless for me.
Tags, being editable, customizable and then searchable is really essential
Without the Custom Tags, I find it difficult to commit to a transition from Evernote.
