Mac: search for tags
Need equivalent search system to Windows version. Being unable to search on tags makes the Mac version half as usable. What good are notes if you can't find the information when you need it?
Not looking for OS level tagging or fancy tag structures as in the other requests posted here, just want useable, equivalent features.

Hello—
You can now create custom tags to insert anywhere in your notebooks. For more information on custom tags and searching custom tags, read this blog – Custom tags available soon in OneNote.
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Office-365-Blog/Custom-tags-available-soon-in-OneNote/ba-p/302898
Also, tags in your notebook and pages now appear in your search results.

without the tag search function on mac, onenote loses much of its value. when can we expect this?

Being able to filter by tags is a huge benefit of other programs over OneNote for Mac. I came from Evernote because I liked OneNote's layout, but without the tag filter OneNote taking notes and searching in OneNote is a burden. Evernote is getting to look better all every time I begin searching for common (tagged) items.

I agree with STACEY. The TAGS aren't very useful if I can't use them for SEARCHING. If I'm going to make OneNote my All-Inclusive Storehouse for Material I want to Organize (which is really what OneNote is supposed to be good for!!!!), then I need all the searching and finding tools I can get! Every other program that provides TAGGING provides SEARCHING by TAG. Otherwise, what's the point? It's a good App. Don't drop the ball now!!!

Tags are worthless if you can't search by tag.

Wow, really disappointing this isn't in the product...without the ability to search for "todos" across sections to create my to do list, this is nothing better than a directory of glorified word docs...so disappointing.

Looks like Windows is doing it on purpose... We have the tags but we cannot search the tags on Mac so it's totally useless. Why? People depending of OneNote will never go and buy a Mac if this feature is missing... Solution? Create your own tags with #todo for instance

This is literally the only reason I still use Evernote. There is absolutely no way I could leave go "all-in" with one-note without tag search. It is one of those things that is a huge hole, and I have trouble understanding why something so vital to the usefulness of the app would be missing.

Tagging has no point if you can't search for them. This should be the highest priority. Also, why not allow real keyword tagging like Evernote? Come on Microsoft, get with the 21st century...

I assume it's conscious behavior of MS to keep MAC environment less attractive. I'm furious I have to suffer from big guys games - I'm still customer of both companies and they don't care ...

I just watched a video on how awesome "Tag Search" is and then come to find out it’s not for Mac.
Is it ever going to be?????
If it is, When?! -

Seriously? I thought "Find Tags" and "Tag Summary" were just hidden in a menu somewhere, causing all the fuss. But MS actually OMITTED it? This makes tagging 100% useless. Taxonomy (tagging) by definition must include a way to *search, sort or filter by tag*! Please pls reply that it's coming in the next month or two. OneNote is stellar otherwise.

Just spent 25 minutes with Microsoft support. Got disconnected twice. Both times the experts didn't know that this could not be done on Mac OneNote. WTF? Are you serious? Conclusion: No one at Microsoft knows this is a problem, and no one is reading the thousands of posts complaining about it. I assume that Microsoft has done it's best and this is the limit of their capacity. .... back to Evernote.

Tagging is useless without being able to search for a single specific tag. For example, show me everything tagged "msft."
I hate to not use OneNote (I'm a Microsoft partner), but tagging needs to be more akin to Evernote where tagging is perfectly executed. Missing this ability I have to switch back to Evernote which is not ideal.

if you have selected, e.g. an "idea" with and idea icon, you should be able to search that without having to wirtie the "idea" word. Same goes true with To Do.

I just watched a great tutorial about the possibilities for teachers... But, I cannot do the most useful thing ... that is get a Tag Summary...???.... Please Please ...when is it coming?

Specifically, I would like to see the same functionality that exists on the Windows side for 1) Serach for tagged notes and 2) Create a tag summary page. As everyone else has noted, the lack of this feature makes tagging fairly useless.
