  2. Mac: Find Tags and Summarize Tags

add "Find Tags" & "Compile/Summarize All Tags" on the Mac. Very hard to believe that Microsoft does not include it for the Mac, very base feature.

    Hello

I’s sorry to hear there are difficulties in getting the new tag search to appear. We are investigating this and I’ll let you know what is found out.

Also, I want to let you know that the tag search may be hidden from your view depending on how your navigation pane settings were set. If you hid your navigation pane, [“View > Navigation Pane > Hide All”], the search button is not visible. For it to appear, you need to set you Navigation Pane View setting to either “Hide Section List” or “Show Sections and Pages” or use Command +F as someone on this forum suggested.

I hope this helps. Keep the suggestions coming as we are reading each and every one.

  3. Mac: Custom tags

As a law student, the tags that are included in this version are completely useless without being able to search for them. Please allow us the ability to use custom tags or at the very least be able to compile like-tags in one place

  6. Leaving (or option to leave) the section tabs at the top on the page instead of on the side

Of the new experimental features is the sections tabs moving to the side of the page instead of displaying at the top. This kills screen space as it takes a huge chunk or horizontal space for people who work with two windows side by side. If the feature is coming, please leave an option to revert back to displaying these tabs at the top of the notebook.

  7. Mac: Make OneNote notebooks searchable via Spotlight

One of the best built-in features of Mac OS X is the global search function called Spotlight. The bad thing: You cannot search OneNote-notebooks.

  8. OneNote for Mac needs to have all the features of the Windows version

OneNote for Mac needs to have all the features of the Windows version.

OneNote could replace my todo app. In fact it'd be the best todo app - I've used them all.

But not until the Mac version is the same as the Windows version. So please update OneNote for Mac to match the Windows version.

  9. Mac: search for tags

Need equivalent search system to Windows version. Being unable to search on tags makes the Mac version half as usable. What good are notes if you can't find the information when you need it?

Not looking for OS level tagging or fancy tag structures as in the other requests posted here, just want useable, equivalent features.

  10. Enable onenote for mac to be saved to the local harddrive like the windows version

Like the windows version, it would be much better if the notebooks we able to be saved to the computers local harddrive on the mac. This would ease peace of mind with secruity as well and ease the mind of many students that they wont lose their notebooks if something goes wrong with the cloud,

It would also be much easier to share notebooks, so that students could share entire notebooks worth of notes by using something as simple as a usb to drag and drop essentially.

  11. Better printing for the Mac

Printing support on the Mac is very primitive currently. You cannot change the page layout or reproduction size, so you often find that what you have drawn simply will not fit on the printed page.

  13. Collapsable pages and sub pages on all Mac OSX/iPhone/iPad applications, just like on Outlook 2013 PC version.

Please add this feature ASAP. If you are like me and have hundreds of pages and hundreds of sub pages, then scrolling through the list to find what you want takes for ever, or moving sub pages between main pages.

Please keep the UI consistent between the windows version and the mac version, as many people like myself, use both Windows and Mac versions and its very frustrating, when they don't work the same

  15. PAGE SIZE OPTION!!

You really need to add the same options that the PC version has. Not knowing where one page ends and the next start is a huge pain when you wanting to print things on one page!.

  18. Mac: Dock the notebook list so it's always open

I noticed that it is possible to pin the notebooks to the left border of OneNote in the free version on Windows, so I hope this will follow soon on Mac.

I switch a lot between different section groups and notebooks. Therefore I need to have them available at a single click all the time.
This might not seem like a big deal, since it only adds a single click to my workflow, but if I have to do that a lot, it gets incredible annoying very quickly!

  19. Just make your software consistent between platforms

Why on earth do you need different versions at all? Surely you can understand and appreciate that many Office users have multiple types of platforms. You're telling me that Microsoft in it's infinite wisdom lets me set internal inks between notebook sections on a PC but on a Mac I can only link something to an online URL?

Why would that feature be removed on a Mac? Who has the bright idea to say "Hey, Mac users don't need to internally link between pages on a notebook, but we understand PC users do." ???? I want to know the name…
