Clean up fundamentals of a Note taking tool
At its core a note taking tool needs to be versatile at bringing bits of information together and organizing them. OneNote is perhaps the least predictable tool in the MS suite at doing this. Here is the cleanup list.
1) Markup. when text or an image is placed in one note and a pen is then used to draw or markup relative to that text or image, it needs a way to stay locked to its subject. Instead OneNote allows the background to moves while leaving the markup floating. Causing constant alignment problems between markups and the subject.
2) Images are a core piece of what goes into oneNote yet oneNote cannot do any of the basic image manipulation tasks included in Word except rotate and layer order. Where is Crop, Transparency, Border, Color, and the ability to micro position an image with arrow keys when its been classified as "In Front of Text"...
3) Make tables either behave like excel or word. Trying to copy/paste sections of tables is beyond infuriating in one note with its native behavior of embedding tables in tables.
4) Inserting markup or focus shapes like boxes, arrows, call outs,... etc. And of course grouping them with the subject to prevent shifting.
